Welcome

KitNotes is an AI-powered personal notebook with Kit, your fox companion, here to help you think, capture, and make sense of your notes. By accessing or using KitNotes, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Your Account

To use KitNotes, you'll create an account. A few ground rules:

• Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity on your account.
• One account per person. Don't share your account with others.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use KitNotes.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your Content

Your notes are yours. Everything you write in KitNotes belongs to you — we make no claim to ownership of your content.

To provide the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your notes back to you. This also covers running AI features on your content (like Kit's chat, tag suggestions, and search). We use your content only to operate and improve your experience — never to train models on your personal notes or sell your data.

What You Can Do

• Use KitNotes for personal note-taking and knowledge management.
• Use Kit's AI features to think through ideas, summarize notes, and explore your knowledge base.
• Export your data at any time.
• Use the service across devices, including the iOS app.

What You Can't Do

Please don't:

• Abuse AI features — no spam, no generating harmful, illegal, or deceptive content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the service.
• Use KitNotes for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Share your account credentials or let others use your account.
• Try to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or billing controls.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.

Free and Pro Plans

KitNotes offers two tiers:

• Free: Up to 50 notes, 10 Kit chats per month, and tag suggestions. Great for getting started.
• Pro: $9/month (billed monthly) or $108/year — unlimited notes, unlimited Kit chats, and everything we build going forward.

Pro subscriptions are processed securely through Stripe. We may adjust plan limits or pricing over time — if we do, we'll give you advance notice. Changes won't affect your current billing period.

The Service

KitNotes is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime or that the service will be error-free. We may update, modify, or discontinue features. For significant changes, we'll do our best to give you advance notice through the app or by email.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. All your data will be removed from our systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If your account is terminated, you'll have 30 days to export your data before it's permanently deleted.

Intellectual Property

KitNotes, Kit, and the fox mascot are our trademarks. The service code, design, and branding are our property. Your notes and content are your property — that never changes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KitNotes and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes are significant, we'll notify you through the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use KitNotes after an update means you accept the revised terms.
